Volkswagen Atlanta Lighthouse Opening in 2023
Over 50 years ago, Jim and Billie Ellis started what today has come to be known as the Jim Ellis Automotive Group when they opened a flagship Volkswagen dealership in Chamblee on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. In celebration of 50 years in business, a new Volkswagen facility is being constructed in Chamblee to house Jim Ellis Volkswagen of Chamblee along with a few other surprise elements and entities. Slated to open in July 2023, the Jim Ellis Volkswagen Lighthouse will have a number of exciting features that we are ready to share with our customers.
What’s so special about the coming Jim Ellis Volkswagen Lighthouse?
- Built on the location where the company opened their first dealership in 1971
- Four-story facility that is roughly 304,000 square feet
- Ground level will house a 52,000 square-foot VW dealership with state-of-the-art technology
- Facility includes a VW dealership, café, customer experience center, covered outdoor customer lounge area, museum and auto gallery, rooftop garden and event space, and Jim Ellis headquarters
- A four-level parking facility that can accommodate 450 vehicles and access to each level of the building
- Opportunity for a unique rooftop delivery experience with a nice view of the Buckhead skyline
- Charging infrastructure to support Volkswagen’s current and upcoming electric vehicle model offerings
- Vehicle delivery bays include one indoor, two covered outdoor and two covered rooftop
- Service area includes 47 total service bays along with a parts department for Volkswagen and Audi
- Five detail bays and two drive-thru automatic car wash lanes
